Outgoing French Ambassador to Zambia Sylvain Berger has urged political players in Zambia not to take the 2021 elections as a matter of life and death.
Ambassador Berger says this will help in defusing tension in both the electoral and political processes.
He has urged political parties to tame their supporters to avoid political violence as the case has been, in recent times where there has been unnecessary drama in the build up to the polls.
Mr Berger told Phoenix News that elections are a normal process in a democracy and should not cause division or tension in the country further stating that party cadres should be made to understand this by the politically elite.
